Merino Muster 2020 and how Covid -19 affects this winter.
Update June 10th 2020
The Merino Muster under Level one is able to proceed as normal on the 29th of August.
It now is apparent our borders won’t open before the Merino Muster this year.
Covid Situation in New Zealand
New Zealand 31st August NZ has no community transmission. We do have cases in managed isolation and one rogue case that tested positive when arriving in Korea, extensive contact tracing is being put into action to ensure that person wasn't affected while travelling in our area. Meanwhile we are all loving the freedom of skiing, shopping and dining out without restrictions- just like precovid days.
What does this mean for the Merino Muster
The Merino Muster 29th August at Snow Farm NZ. We have taken some economic cuts to ensure financial viability and we have passed the cuts on to the skier with reduced entry fees. Other changes are things like recycling race bibs. We will be continuing with the pre race dinner renamed to the Musterers dinner where will will welcome the volunteers and the international entrants that have been lucky enough in New Zealand when the borders closed.
